The BCIHL is pleased to announce that Thompson Rivers University and the Logan Lake Miners have agreed on an affiliation that will see the Miners club join the WolfPack for the 2026/27 season.
The agreement paves the way for the return of the WolfPack to BCIHL competition for the first time since 2014.
The Miners plan to re-brand as the TRU WolfPack over the offseason and continue to compete out of Logan Lake, neighboring TRU's primary campus in Kamloops.
"We're thrilled by the progression of the Miners team," says BCIHL President Chris Munshaw.
"As an independent team established in 2022, the Miners have developed into a strong BCIHL competitor and fantastic representative of BCIHL values within Logan Lake. We're excited to see the team move forward under the TRU banner as a competitive club and represent the university, Logan Lake and the Thompson-Nicola region with pride."
"This affiliation combines the strength of the Thompson Rivers University WolfPack brand with the incredible support and hockey culture that exists in Logan Lake," says Miners-turned-WolfPack head coach Grant Friesen.
"The team will continue to call Logan Lake home, while gaining new opportunities for recruitment, student-athlete development, and long-term program sustainability. We are excited about the future and what this means for our players, our university, and the community."

Notable WolfPack hockey alumni include Jassi Sangha, who amassed 118 points through 65 games, defencemen Shane Oatway and David Boychuk with BCIHL First Team All-Star nods, as well as captains Andrew Fisher and Curtis Tonello.
